The ad’s claim of “no subscription fees” refers to the absence of a mandatory monthly monitoring fee like other providers, as the system is managed by the user via the app. However, if a SIM card is used for 4G or GPRS network connection (for when Wi-Fi is down), there may be an ongoing cost for a low-cost data-only SIM.

The system is designed for user-friendly installation, with wireless components that simplify the setup and avoid the need for extensive cabling. However, to ensure a Grade 2 certified installation and the correct configuration of features such as tamper alarms and advanced surveillance, we recommend using our professional installers. The hub itself can be connected via Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or 4G, and the DMSS app guides you through pairing each wireless device by scanning a simple QR code

The hub has a built-in lithium battery that provides power for a limited time (up to 12 hours) in case of a power cut. The hub can also be configured with a 4G/2G/GPRS connection to ensure it remains online if the primary Wi-Fi or wired internet connection is lost.

Battery life varies depending on the specific device. For example, some door sensors and keypads can have a battery life of up to 5 years, while water leak detectors may last for around 3 years. The app will provide a status display showing the battery level for each peripheral.

Yes, the Dahua AirShield system is EN50131 Grade 2 compliant and meets the PD6662:2017 standard, which indicates that it is a professional-grade security system suitable for homes and small businesses. 

The system uses two-way communication and frequency hopping to ensure stable communication between devices and the hub. This helps prevent interference and ensures that real-time alerts are pushed to the DMSS app immediately. The cloud service also provides a reliable platform for alert delivery.

The AirShield system is designed to be a powerful deterrent with significant sound output from its sirens, which can also be fully customised.

  • External Siren: This wireless siren has a sound pressure level of 110 dB. This is a very high decibel level, making it a highly effective and attention-grabbing deterrent. The loudness of the external siren can also be configured via the DMSS app to suit your environment.
  • Internal Siren: The wireless internal siren has a sound pressure level of 84 dB on high volume and 78 dB on average volume. The DMSS app provides presets that allow you to easily select the best loudness level for your home.

Beyond these pre-set volume levels, the DMSS app gives you granular control over the siren’s behaviour. You can:

  • Adjust Beep Volume: Control the volume of the arming and disarming confirmation tones, with options for High, Medium, and Low.
  • Set Alarm Duration: Configure the precise length of time the sirens will sound after an alarm is triggered.
  • Enable Silent Arming: For discreet use, the system can be configured to disarm the audible confirmation tones.

This level of control ensures that the alarm system is not just a high-decibel deterrent, but a configurable alert that can be perfectly tailored to your needs.
